95 Points - Wine & Spirits Magazine "Top 100 Wines of the Year" "Top 100 Best Buys" "I wish there were more vineyards like Perli in Mendocino’s high ridges. The best wines from the site have dynamic intensity, like this 2019, which seems to grab you by the lapels (if you’re stodgy enough to be wearing a suit while drinking syrah). There’s tense acidity driving the wine, but it doesn’t stand in front of the scents of crushed violets and peak-season blueberries. The tannins may be a little rustic, but the wine’s energy makes them feel joyous."
93 Points - Wine Enthusiast "This sleek, almost spare wine, has an edgy expression from nervy acidity and a rather light body that accompanies violets, sour cherries and black pepper flavors that are fascinating to savor. An earthy, tobacco-like nuance develops on the palate and lingers on the finish."
Vinography "A hazy dark garnet in the glass, this wine smells of blackberry, cassis, and white pepper. In the mouth, wonderfully spicy notes of white pepper mix with ripe and unripe blackberry, and notes of dried herbs. Faint powdery tannins gain stiffness as the wine heads to a long finish."
