Tasting Notes: This refined Pinot Noir displays lovely freshness and intensity, with the elegant power so classic to Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. The wine has excellent acidity and lively structure, with deeply flavorful fruit concentration due to the dry-farmed nature of the vineyard. Layered, bright, and minerally, it has notes of pine and coastal forest floor, along with citrusy orange peel, dark cherry, brown sugar, and spice.
Vineyard: Hacienda Sequoia Vineyard - Anderson Valley AVA, Mendocino
Hacienda Sequoia Vineyard is located in the coolest, fog-shrouded part of Anderson Valley nicknamed the “Deep End” due to its close proximity to the coast. This small, 2-acre Pinot Noir vineyard was originally planted in 1999, and is named after a towering, magnificent redwood tree that overlooks the vineyard. Sitting on the eastern foothills of Anderson Valley at 500ft elevation, it is southwest-facing, organic, and dry farmed.
Winemaking: Native yeast. 20% whole-cluster fermentation in small, open-top fermenters. Aged in neutral French oak barrels for 11 months.
Vintage: Following a wet winter, the late budbreak of 2023 led to a long, cool, and dry growing season with good yields and extended hangtime, allowing us to pick precisely when we wanted. Leading to wines of balance and full flavors at lower sugars and restrained alcohol, 2023 is marked as a superior vintage of excellent quality.

"Plush, silky and mouth-filling, showing violet and thyme-blossom aromas with black-cherry juice, wild blackberries and pine resin on the palate. Medium-bodied and flavorful without heaviness. There’s a slight, pleasant, Aperol-like bitterness. Delicious and satisfying. Drink or hold."

"Medium garnet in color, this wine smells of cranberries, dried herbs, earth, and a hint of sweet oak. In the mouth, sweet oak flavors mix with raspberry and cranberry as forest floor flavors linger with the oak in the finish. Fluffy, fleecy tannins stay supple throughout."
